Job summary

Spice QSR's Tropical Smoothie Café at Duke Hospital in Durham is seeking an Assistant Manager to support daily operations, ensure exceptional service, food safety, cleanliness and profitability.

You will lead by example, motivate the team, manage inventory, scheduling, and travel between locations as needed. The role requires 3 years in fast-paced hospitality, a valid driver's license, and a willingness to pass background checks. Training and advancement opportunities are offered.

Position Overview:

As an Assistant Manager, you will support the daily operations of the café, ensuring exceptional customer service, food safety, cleanliness, and profitability. You will lead by example, motivate your team, and ensure that every customer has a positive experience.

Key Responsibilities:

Assist with inventory counts and enter truck orders.

Learn and assist with scheduling for General Manager review.

Actively seek out new skills and fill in wherever needed.

Be on track for a management career path.

What We're Looking For

• At least3 years of experiencein a fast-paced restaurant or assistant manager role.
• High school diploma or equivalentpreferred.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift up to 30 lbs in a busy restaurant environment.

• A positive attitude, even under pressure.
• Valid driver's licensepreferred but not required.
• Vehicle Requirement: Assistant Managers must have daily access to a reliable personal vehicle, a valid driver's license, and current auto insurance. The ability to travel between café locations, attend meetings, pick up supplies, and respond to operational needs is an essential function of this role. A travel stipend is provided for roles requiring vehicle use for company bank deposits.
