Job summary

The University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine is recruiting a Tribal Outreach Program Coordinator to develop and implement health education and outreach in Tribal communities across Nevada. You will work with the Rural Health Professions Education Coordinator and partners to foster educational programming and clinical training opportunities in Tribal health settings.

This role strengthens pathways into health professions education, raises awareness of healthcare careers among Tribal youth,

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree and two years of related work experience, or a master’s degree and one year of related work experience
• Related experience in community outreach, education, public health, healthcare, or program coordination
• Nevada driver’s license

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain collaborative relationships with Tribal governments, Tribal schools, health organizations, and community leaders throughout Nevada and the surrounding region.
• Collaborate with departmental leadership and community partners to establish and maintain agreements supporting educational programming and clinical training experiences within Tribal communities.
• Coordinate Tribal health education outreach programs designed to increase awareness of healthcare careers among middle school and high school students.
• Plan, coordinate, and implement an annual summer institute for students from participating Tribal communities.
