Job summary

Baker Tilly is seeking a Manager to lead accounting services and grant management for Tribal government clients. You will deliver monthly reporting, financial insights, and policy updates while coordinating with clients and internal teams.

The role requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, 5+ years of related experience, and strong communication skills. Some travel (10–15%) may be required; remote work options may apply.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required; emphasis in Accounting or related field preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience, not for profit and/or governmental experience.
• Experience in grants management, financial accounting including account reconciliation, governmental accounting standards implementation, and/or accounts payable processing.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with exceptional client service across channels.
• Ability to manage multiple projects with tight deadlines and think critically.

Responsibilities

• Performs operational, accounting, and consulting services for Tribal governments, including monthly closing, grants management, grant reporting, and financial reporting to key decision makers.
• Prepares polished deliverables for clients and ensures timely delivery.
• Develops policies and procedures on key accounting matters.
• Collaborates with clients to define new processes and update policies and procedures.
• Leads project start-up activities and adheres to schedules; attends kickoff meetings.
• Coordinates with clients during audits and helps prepare for audits.
• Supports practice growth and quality review of work.
• Travels to client locations, trainings, or conferences as needed.
