Job summary

A recreational adventure park is seeking an Adventure Guide to provide a safe and engaging experience for climbers. The successful candidate will supervise aerial courses, enforce safety policies, and deliver training on equipment use. Requirements include being at least 18 years old, lifting up to 50 pounds, and obtaining CPR/First Aid certification. Location: TreEscape Aerial Adventure Park, 414 County Rd 517, Vernon, NJ, 07462

Position Type: Seasonal (Up to 40 Hours/Week)

Position Overview:

An Adventure Guide at TreEscape Aerial Adventure Park is responsible for delivering a safe, engaging, and memorable guest experience. As the primary point of contact for climbers, Adventure Guides supervise and monitor aerial courses, enforce safety policies, and provide exceptional customer service throughout each visit.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Complete daily opening/closing procedures to ensure park readiness.
  • Provide excellent, personable, positive, and professional interactions with all park guests.
  • Respond promptly and effectively to guest inquiries and concerns.
  • Abide and enforce all park policies in compliance with safety standards and specific park regulations.
  • Conduct all proper daily and monthly inspections for PPE.
  • Conduct daily and monthly course inspections compliant with ACCT standards.
  • Facilitate guest training which includes harness fittings, safety briefings, and guest practice with course PPE.
  • Train and ensure guests understand and demonstrate the proper use of ropes course equipment and safe practices/techniques.
  • Provide first aid as needed, based on your level of training, and respond appropriately to emergency situations such as weather events, mechanical failures, or injuries.
  • Assist the Adventure Supervisor and/or Manager with the maintenance and adherence to standard operating procedures (SOPs) for ropes course equipment.
  • Accompany guests on the ropes course and assist as necessary, in accordance with your certification level.
  • Safely and effectively perform varying rescue assists in accordance to your certification level achieved upon training.
Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • Comfortable working at varying heights.
  • Demonstrate a full range of overhead arm motions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 pounds.
  • Ability to work outside and be exposed to outdoor elements, such as heat, rain, cold, etc.
  • Ability to be on your feet and moving around for long periods of time.
  • Maintain a professional demeanor in all interactions.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Must be comfortable with public speaking and addressing small to large groups.
  • Successful completion of mandatory training and achieving proper certifications.
  • Must have or obtain a valid CPR/First Aid certification within 30 days of employment.
  • Have a passion and respect for the outdoor environment.
  • Proven ability to engage effectively with guests and handle difficult situations with grace.
  • Must be available to work weekends, select weekdays, Night Climbs, and holidays.
Job Advancements:

Ability to be cross-trained in different TreEscape roles and gain new responsibilities based off of the successful completion of on-the-job training and attainment of the necessary certification level.
