Job summary

AKA Tree Service is seeking a hardworking Tree Groundsperson to support daily tree care and removal operations. This full-time, on-site role assists climbers, operators, and crew leaders by maintaining a safe work environment and handling debris.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, can perform physically demanding tasks, and works well as part of a team. Training and year-round opportunities are provided in a supportive setting.

Qualifications

• Experience in tree care, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor is preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment.
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude.
• Ability to work in various weather conditions.
• Dependable attendance and punctuality.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist tree climbers and crew members during tree pruning and removal operations.
• Safely drag, chip, and dispose of brush, limbs, and tree debris.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, blowers, and other tree care equipment.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic and pedestrian control when required.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Follow all company safety policies and industry standards.
• Assist with rigging operations under the direction of qualified crew members.
• Support storm response and emergency tree work when needed.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.
