Job summary

AKA Tree Service is seeking a hardworking Tree Groundsperson to support daily tree care and removal operations. This role assists climbers, operators, and crew leaders while maintaining safe work zones and handling brush and debris on job sites.

The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, can perform physically demanding tasks, and works well as part of a team. Full-time, year-round work opportunities with ongoing safety training are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience in outdoor labor or similar fields is preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment.
• Strong work ethic and a positive attitude.
• Able to work in varying weather conditions.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality.
• Willingness to follow directions and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Assist tree climbers and crew during pruning and removal operations.
• Safely drag, chip, and dispose of brush and debris.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, blowers, and other equipment.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones including traffic control when needed.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Follow all safety policies and industry standards.
• Assist with rigging operations under supervision.
• Support storm response and emergency tree work when required.
• Communicate effectively with team and supervisors.

Position Summary

AKA Tree Service is seeking a hardworking and safety-focused Tree Groundsperson to support daily tree care and removal operations. This position plays a critical role in assisting climbers, equipment operators, and crew leaders by maintaining a safe work environment, handling brush and debris, operating equipment, and ensuring efficient job site operations. The ideal candidate enjoys outdoor work, can perform physically demanding tasks, and works well as part of a team.

Essential Responsibilities

• Assist tree climbers and crew members during tree pruning and removal operations.
• Safely drag, chip, and dispose of brush, limbs, and tree debris.
• Operate and maintain chainsaws, wood chippers, blowers, and other tree care equipment.
• Set up and maintain safe work zones, including traffic and pedestrian control when required.
• Load and unload tools, equipment, and materials.
• Perform daily equipment inspections and report maintenance needs.
• Maintain a clean and organized job site.
• Follow all company safety policies and industry standards.
• Assist with rigging operations under the direction of qualified crew members.
• Support storm response and emergency tree work when needed.
• Communicate effectively with crew members and supervisors.

• Previous tree care, landscaping, construction, or outdoor labor experience preferred but not required.
• Ability to safely operate or learn to operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment.

• Ability to follow directions and safety procedures.
• Valid driver's license preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift and carry up to 75 pounds.
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, kneel, and perform repetitive physical tasks throughout the workday.
• Ability to work on uneven terrain and around heavy equipment.
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions.
