Job summary

STO Building Group is seeking a Construction Superintendent to oversee daily job-site operations, ensure schedules and procurement align with project plans, and supervise all direct labor on site. Travel to multiple project locations is required, with on-site presence at each site.

The role requires a Bachelor's in construction management or related field, 5+ years in ground-up commercial projects, and strong leadership, communication, and scheduling skills. CMiC knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or related field
• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects
• Knowledge of construction processes
• Valid driver's license and ability to travel
• Reads blueprints accurately
• Knowledge of subcontractors' scopes and tolerances
• Strong written and verbal communication skills (Spanish a plus)
• Good administrative and managerial skills
• Strong problem-solving abilities
• Team player with good interpersonal skills
• Organized with good time management
• Professional appearance and conduct
• Initiative and self-starter attitude
• Proficient with office equipment and spreadsheet/word processing
• CMiC knowledge preferred

Responsibilities

• Studies specifications to plan procedures for construction with staffing and schedules
• Interacts with Project Manager to determine project schedule and look-ahead schedules
• Coordinates pre-construction meeting with Project Manager
• Directs procurement of tools and materials to meet work schedules
• Ensures all parties are informed of construction issues and progress
• Works with supervision to resolve concerns and improve methods
• Inspects work to ensure conformity with specs and schedules
• Manages project progress, materials used, and costs; adjusts schedules as needed
• Moves personnel between projects to optimize labor costs; manages crew mixes
• Prepares the Project Management Plan with the Project Manager
• Ensures company safety policies and quality standards are consistently applied
• Performs other related duties as assigned
