Job summary

nVent seeks a Traveling Superintendent to lead on-site coordination for large-scale bus duct system installation projects across North America. You will manage schedules, coordinate customers and subcontractors, and ensure quality and safety at multiple sites with frequent overnight travel.

Qualifications include a high school diploma, 3+ years in field project roles, and proficiency with MS Office and drawing interpretation.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years leading or coordinating field-based project activities at client sites.
• Experience supporting project execution at client locations (schedule, subcontractors, reporting).
• Strong organizational, planning, and communication skills in fast-paced field environments.
• Ability to read construction drawings and project documents.
• Knowledge of OSHA requirements and field safety practices.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project scheduling/tracking tools.
• Willingness to travel up to 75% overnight.

Responsibilities

• Serve as on-site representative for large-scale bus duct system projects, including outage, rebuild, and field service work across North America.
• Coordinate daily project activities with customers, subcontractors, Field Service Technicians, Project Managers, and internal support teams.
• Lead site coordination and progress meetings with clear communication on schedules, risks and issue resolution.
• Monitor schedules, workforce, equipment, material readiness, and project progress.
• Review drawings, documentation, and scope to support delivery and customer experience.
• Make field decisions balancing safety, schedule, customer commitments, and costs.
• Complete daily reports, timekeeping records and maintain project records.
• Support safety, quality and continuous improvement across all sites.
