Job summary

OP Engineering seeks an experienced Traveling Superintendent to lead field execution on major data-center projects across the United States. You will partner with Project Managers, MEP teams, trade partners and clients to ensure safe, timely and high-quality delivery.

You will mentor junior superintendents and guide field operations, driving scheduling discipline and coordination with commissioning and QA/QC teams as projects progress.

Qualifications

• Direct data-center / mission-critical construction experience.
• Experience as Superintendent or Senior Superintendent.
• Ability to manage multiple trades on technically complex projects.
• Strong scheduling and field-planning capabilities.

We're working with a long-established, family-owned US general contractor that is continuing to build out its Mission Critical / Data Center division.

They’re looking for an experienced Traveling Superintendent with direct data-center construction experience to join the team and take ownership of major projects across the US.

This is a strong opportunity for someone who wants the backing and stability of a major contractor, but also wants to join a Mission Critical business that is still growing — giving experienced hires the chance to influence how projects are delivered and progress with the division as it scales.

The role

You’ll be responsible for field execution across large-scale data-center projects, working closely with Project Managers, MEP teams, trade partners and client representatives.

Typical responsibilities will include:

• Leading day-to-day site operations on major data-center projects
• Managing subcontractors, field teams and sequencing of work
• Driving schedule, safety, quality and productivity
• Coordinating closely with MEP, commissioning and QA/QC teams
• Leading daily planning and coordination meetings
• Reviewing look-ahead schedules and identifying potential project risks
• Managing site logistics, manpower and trade coordination
• Ensuring work is delivered in line with drawings, specifications and project standards
• Supporting commissioning, turnover and closeout activities
• Maintaining strong communication with project leadership and the client
• Mentoring Assistant Superintendents and field staff

What they are looking for

Ideally you’ll have:

• Direct data-center / mission-critical construction experience
• Previous experience as a Superintendent, Senior Superintendent or General Superintendent
• Experience managing multiple trades on technically complex projects
• Good understanding of MEP systems and commissioning interfaces
• Strong scheduling and field-planning ability
• A track record of delivering safely and maintaining high quality standards
• Comfortable working directly with owners, subcontractors and project leadership
• Willingness to travel nationally

Candidates from major data-center GCs, mission-critical contractors or similarly complex construction environments are of particular interest.
