Job summary

Pike Electric, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Substation Ground Technician to support construction, maintenance and repair of substation equipment. The role involves working in confined spaces and at heights, along with travel to Florida and other states as required by customer demands.

We value safety, reliability and teamwork. Candidates must be able to perform physical labor, obtain a CDL within 6 months, and be willing to work long hours during emergencies.

Qualifications

• Able to perform rigorous physical labor.
• Capable of climbing and working at heights up to 125 feet.
• Must possess or be capable of obtaining a Commercial Driver's License within 6 months.
• Must supply own hand tools required for this work.
• Must supply own safety-toed boots.
• Capable of lifting over 50 lbs.
• Capable of working in confined spaces/areas.
• Able to work independently or with others.
• Willing to travel and work overtime during emergencies.

Responsibilities

• Perform construction, maintenance or repair, testing, adjusting and troubleshooting of substation equipment/systems.
• Assist with buswork, cable terminations, control buildings, conduit and duct banks, capacitor banks and transformers.
• Maintain company vehicles, test equipment and tools in good condition.
• Work safely around energized high-voltage systems.
• Travel as required by customer demands and project needs.
