Job summary

American Electric Power is seeking Station Electricians in Niles, MI to perform and supervise maintenance, installation, and testing on energized and de-energized generation, transmission, and distribution facilities.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent education/experience.
• Military training or technical/technician experience acceptable.
• Recent station electrician exposure with utility/contractor preferred.
• No prior work experience required for some levels.

Responsibilities

• Work on energized equipment up to 260 volts; higher voltages with supervision.
• Disassemble/maintain transformers, circuit breakers, and equipment.
• Install conduits, pass tools, and perform site prep tasks.
• Inspect lights, gauges, and safety systems; report abnormalities.
• Operate company vehicles and specialized equipment; follow safety rules.
