Job summary

Elara Caring is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) to support clients in their homes across the service area. You will be the first face clients see at Start of Care, helping create a positive experience from day one.

This PRN role offers flexible scheduling, travel between visits, and paths for advancement within Personal Care Services. You will work closely with branch leadership to expand your skills while delivering compassionate, independent care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required where state regulations apply.
• 6+ months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals.
• HHA, PCA, CNA, MA or similar certification where required.
• Comfort with mobile devices and electronic documentation.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable transportation and ability to travel within service area.
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Supporting new client admissions and Start of Care visits
• Providing personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing, and hygiene
• Preparing meals and assisting with daily living activities
• Performing housekeeping and household support
• Assisting with errands and transportation
• Monitoring and reporting changes in client condition
• Maintaining documentation and visit records
• Providing coverage for open shifts and urgent staffing needs
• Traveling throughout the service area to support clients
• Promoting Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care
