Job summary

Elara Caring in Ardmore, OK, is seeking a Special Care Aide (SCA) to join a team providing home-based care. This PRN role involves assisting with admissions, personal care, meals, and daily living support across multiple clients within the service area.

The role requires a high school diploma or GED, six months of caregiving experience, relevant certification as required by state, and the ability to travel and lift up to 50 pounds. Strong communication and reliability are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum six months of experience caring for elderly or disabled individuals
• High School Diploma or GED is required by state regulations
• Home Health Aide, Personal Care Aide, Homemaker, CNA, MA, or similar certification where required
• Basic technology skills and comfort using mobile devices and electronic documentation systems
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Compassionate, dependable, and patient-focused approach
• Ability to travel throughout the assigned service area
• Ability to lift at least 50 pounds and perform physical caregiving duties

Responsibilities

• Support new client admissions and Start of Care visits
• Provide personal care including bathing, grooming, dressing and hygiene
• Prepare meals and assist with daily living activities
• Perform housekeeping and household support
• Assist with errands and transportation when appropriate
• Monitor and report changes in client condition
• Maintain accurate documentation and visit records
• Provide coverage for open shifts, call-offs, and urgent staffing needs
• Travel throughout the assigned service area to support clients
• Promote Elara Caring's mission and commitment to quality care
