Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Security Service Technician to perform service, troubleshooting, and maintenance of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage security systems. You will ensure systems operate properly, meet customer expectations, and support compliance with applicable codes and standards.

The position requires a high school diploma, 3+ years of fire and life safety experience, and the ability to read technical documents and drawings.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong working knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.
• Ability to work independently and complete standard service jobs without direct supervision.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.
• Diagnose system issues and complete corrective actions in a timely and professional manner.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with applicable codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Travel to job sites as required.
• Complete service documentation, inspection reports, and work orders accurately and on time.
