Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety is seeking a Traveling Commercial/Industrial Service Technician in Charlotte, NC. The role performs service, maintenance, and inspection of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low-voltage systems.

You will read blueprints, diagnose issues, document work orders, and travel to job sites as required. A high school diploma, 3+ years’ experience in fire and life safety, and a clean driving record are required.

Qualifications

High school diploma or equivalent.
3+ years of experience in fire and life safety as an apprentice or technician.
Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
Strong knowledge of intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and low-voltage systems.
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings.

Responsibilities

Perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems.
Test and verify system functionality and compliance with codes and customer requirements.
Complete service documentation and work orders on time.
Read blueprints and wiring diagrams and interpret system layouts.
Travel to job sites as required.
