Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety seeks a Security Service Technician to service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low-voltage systems, ensuring proper operation and customer satisfaction.

The role requires a high school diploma, 3+ years in fire and life safety, a valid driver’s license, and the ability to read blueprints. Expect field travel, safety adherence, and independent problem solving.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
• Ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently service, troubleshoot, repair, inspect, and maintain security systems.
• Diagnose issues and complete corrective actions.
• Test system functionality and ensure compliance with codes and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance of security and low-voltage systems.
• Read blueprints, wiring diagrams, and manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely.
• Document service reports and work orders accurately.
• Communicate progress and system status with customers and team.
• Travel to job sites as required.
