Job summary

Pye-Barker Fire & Safety, LLC in Charlotte, NC seeks a Security Service Technician to independently service and maintain intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and other low‑voltage systems. You will diagnose issues, perform repairs, and ensure systems meet codes and customer expectations on every job.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• 3+ years of experience in fire and life safety industry as an apprentice or technician.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record, if driving role.
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical documents and system drawings.

Responsibilities

• Independently perform service, troubleshooting, repair, inspection, and maintenance of security systems including intrusion alarms, access control, CCTV, and related low‑voltage systems.
• Test and verify proper system functionality and compliance with codes, standards, and customer requirements.
• Perform routine inspections and preventive maintenance on security and low‑voltage systems.
• Read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, system layouts, and technical manuals.
• Use hand tools and testing equipment to complete service work safely and efficiently.
