Job summary

Responsibilities include conducting site audits, investigating incidents, training employees, and coordinating safety initiatives with project teams. The incumbent will help Thompson maintain a leadership position in safety and quality

Qualifications

• Must have completed OSHA 30.
• OSHA 500 training is preferred.
• MSHA and HAZWOPER certification may be required depending on site.
• Clear communication and reading comprehension with supervision.

Responsibilities

• Observe job performance and identify site hazards to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
• Communicate safety findings to operations management and peer Safety Managers to share best practices.
• Conduct post-accident investigations and make recommendations to prevent recurrence.
• Escort injured employees to medical treatment and explain our light-duty policies to protect workers and productivity.
• Plan and coordinate programs to reduce injuries and financial losses; develop SOPs and safety policies.
• Visit sites weekly (goal 25 per month) to conduct audits and address unsafe behaviors.
• Inspect Thompson vehicles/equipment for roadworthiness and safety.
• Assist in pre-job/shutdown planning with Project Manager and field crews.
