Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. seeks a Safety Manager to oversee safety programs on multiple projects across the Southeast and Central United States. The role requires travel to job sites and ensuring OSHA, state, and federal compliance while reducing injuries and financial losses.

You will lead safety trainings, conduct audits, and investigations, and collaborate with project teams to promote Thompson’s safety culture. Per diem is provided where eligible.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of field safety experience.
• Must have completed OSHA 30; OSHA 500 preferred.
• Some sites may require MSHA and HAZWOPER certifications.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly with supervisors and coworkers.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds and work in varied environments.

Responsibilities

• Observe job performance and identify hazards to ensure regulatory compliance (OSHA, MSHA, EPA, etc.).
• Suggest actions to management to eliminate unsafe conditions.
• Conduct post-accident investigations and provide prevention recommendations.
• Assist in accident documentation and reporting for management.
• Deliver safety trainings and new employee orientations.
• Perform site audits and safety inspections at least weekly.
• Maintain safety data and trend analyses in audit systems.
• Coordinate safety program improvements with site teams.
