Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking Safety Managers for various projects. The role requires travel and relocation to project sites across the Southeast.

You will ensure Thompson’s safety programs meet OSHA and regulatory requirements, and lead efforts to reduce injuries, illnesses and financial losses while educating employees. Responsibilities include site audits, incident investigations, training, and development of safety SOPs.

Qualifications

• Requires travel and relocation to project sites.
• Minimum of 5 years of safety experience in the field.
• Must pass drug test and criminal background check as required by location.
• Must be able to read, write and communicate clearly; basic math skills.

Responsibilities

• Observe job performance and identify hazards to ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA and other regulations.
• Identify conditions that could cause accidents and communicate with operations management.
• Conduct post-accident investigations and recommend preventive actions.
• Assist in accident documentation and safety program development.
• Visit sites weekly to conduct audits and identify unsafe conditions.
• Mentor staff on safety policies and conduct trainings as required.
• Prepare and maintain safety data, run trend analysis, and report findings.
