Job summary

Thompson Construction Group, Inc. is seeking a Safety Coordinator to coordinate field safety activities on project sites in the United States. You will work under a safety manager to implement safety programs, ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance, and drive a safety culture across crews.

The role involves training, investigations, hazard assessment, and developing safety improvements. The position emphasizes teamwork, communication, and proactive risk reduction on construction sites.

Qualifications

• Fluency in Farsi, Dari and English is required for reading, writing and communication.
• OSHA 30 certification or equivalent safety experience is required.
• Minimum 5 years safety experience in construction or general industry.
• Associates or Bachelor's degree with OSHA 30 required if degree is in non-safety fields.
• Basic computer skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Observe site activities and identify hazards.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, MSHA, EPA, and other regulations.
• Provide direction for immediate actions when hazards are identified.
• Identify conditions that could cause accidents and communicate with operations management.
• Lead safety data reviews and communicate trends to stakeholders.
• Participate in accident investigations and make prevention recommendations.
• Assist with accident documentation and care of injured employees as needed.
• Plan and coordinate programs to reduce injuries and losses and improve safety.
• Coach foremen and crews on pre-task planning and safe practices.
• Attend customer mandated safety meetings.
