Job summary

Schweitzer Engineering Laboratories, Inc. (SEL) is seeking a Relay Commissioning Technician I who is willing to travel up to 75% and act as the face of SEL to customers.

You will train customers in planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices, applying SEL protection and automation design practices and quality standards.

Qualifications

• Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering Technology or equivalent.
• Experience in electrical power systems: planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation, and/or maintenance.

Responsibilities

• Train and assist customers in planning, design, testing, installation, commissioning, operation and maintenance of electrical power systems at customer sites and SEL offices.
• Apply SEL design practices for protection and automation systems and quality standards.
• Run tests, document malfunctions, and analyze undesired trends.
• Provide timely reports to engineering, leadership and customers about commissioning activities.
• Maintain a safe workplace and implement safe, environmentally sound practices.
