Veolia Group is seeking a traveling Wastewater Operations Technician to cover vacations and absences across client facilities in the region. You will train local teams, perform maintenance and process adjustments, and ensure compliance with safety and quality standards.

The role requires significant travel (1–2 weeks, potentially up to a month) and involves contributing to start-up projects, troubleshooting, and data analysis to optimize treatment processes across multiple sites.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or Google equivalents required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude preferred.
• Strong communication skills, both verbally and written, required.
• Willingness to learn and be able take instructions on Wastewater treatment processes.
• Operational experience of site equipment preferred, including:
• 3+ years of experience in Wastewater treatment plant operations or related field required. Ability and desire to build and maintain a "team mentality".
• Prior experience in a traveling work role preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain complete operational coverage of Veolia operated facilities in your designated region during vacations and unplanned absences, with schedule flexibility for day and night shifts.
• Develop operational skills of local technicians, including hands-on training visits, electronic training materials, and onboarding of new staff.
• Ensure industry standards and best practices in record keeping, lab testing procedures, and preventative maintenance at Veolia facilities.
• Support new account start-up projects with SWOT team, developing tasks, procedures, and training for new technicians.
• Provide knowledgeable support to technicians for troubleshooting and proactive decision making.
• Operate and control pumps, motors, and valves to regulate wastewater flow.
• Collect and test wastewater samples and maintain accurate client data.
• Comply with Veolia safety programs and regulatory requirements.
• Analyze lab data to identify treatment issues and implement process changes to ensure compliance.
• Coordinate with multiple facilities to maintain wastewater treatment equipment.
