Job summary

Quantum Industrial Services is seeking a Traveling Quality Control Specialist to ensure welding, fabrication, and mechanical work meet project specifications, applicable codes, and company quality standards across multiple states.

This role supports large-scale industrial projects and works closely with field teams, Project Managers, customers, and inspectors to maintain quality from installation through turnover.

Qualifications

• AWS CWI certification is required.
• 3–5+ years welding inspection experience in fabrication, structural steel, piping, or mechanical environments.
• Strong knowledge of AWS D1.1, ASME Section IX, and ASME B31.1/B31.3.
• Ability to read blueprints, WPS, PQR, and engineering drawings.
• Willingness to travel extensively.

Responsibilities

• Perform visual and dimensional inspections of welds and fabricated assemblies.
• Verify materials, welding consumables, and compliance with WPS requirements.
• Monitor welding and fabrication activities for compliance with AWS, ASME, and project specifications.
• Coordinate and support NDT activities, including UT, MT, PT, and RT.
• Maintain inspection reports, quality records, NCRs, and turnover documentation.
• Witness welder qualification testing and maintain welder continuity records.
• Review drawings, specifications, WPS, PQRs, and project quality requirements.
• Work with fabrication teams, Project Managers, customers, and inspectors to resolve quality concerns.
• Support quality improvement initiatives and promote a strong safety culture.
• Assist with inspections, turnover, and project closeout.
