Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring Patient Observation Assistant (Traveler) for full-time and part-time roles across Ascension St. Vincent locations in Carmel, Fishers, and Indianapolis.

The position requires travel between multiple hospital locations with a $1.00/hour travel stipend per shift; pay ranges from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour plus travel compensation. Rotating weekends/holidays and training at the home unit are part of the role.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or basic life Support healthcare provider (BLS-HCP) certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods. Requires bending, stooping, reaching up, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established interval.
• Remains at the bedside of assigned patient at all times unless relieved by an appropriate staff member.
• Verbal alerts and redirects the patient from at-risk behaviors and seeks help as needed.
• Assists in maintaining a safe environment and escalates concerns to nursing staff when necessary.
• Participates in hand-off of pertinent information about assigned patient on shift change.
