Job summary

TouchPoint is hiring immediate full-time and part-time Patient Observation Assistants in Indianapolis, IN. The role requires prior related experience and offers a fixed pay rate of $16.00 per hour.

Responsibilities include monitoring patients, documenting observations, and coordinating with nurses. The position supports hospital patients, families, and visitors across Compass health facilities.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• Current CPR AED or Basic Life Support (BLS-HCP) certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at the facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; ability to bend, stoop, reach and lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides visual and audible observation of assigned patients under RN direction.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient at all times unless relieved by staff.
• Assists with patient safety reporting and environment safety.
• Assists with calming and reorienting patients during agitation.
• Assists with ordering dietary trays and setting up meals when needed.
• Responds rapidly to emergencies and escalates to nurse as required.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
