Job summary

Compass Group USA is hiring PATIENT OBSERVATION ASSISTANT positions (full time and part time) at Ascension St Vincent, Indianapolis, IN. The role involves visual and audible observation of patients under RN direction, with duties to maintain safety and assist with patient care.

We offer day-to-day schedules that vary, with pay ranging from $15.00 to $16.00 per hour. Previous related experience is preferred. Online applications are accepted only.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent is required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification required within 30 days of hire, if required at facility.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods; lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous related experience is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provides visual and audible observation of assigned patients.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Remains at the bedside with patients; responds to needs and escalates to nursing staff as needed.
• Assists with ensuring patient safety and a clean, safe environment.
• Accompanies patients during diagnostic testing and transports if needed.
• Participates in hand-offs and coordinates with nursing staff during shifts.
