Job summary

TouchPoint Support Services, part of Compass Group USA, is hiring immediately for Traveler Patient Observation Assistant roles at Ascension St Vincent in Indianapolis, IN. Both full-time and part-time schedules with day/evening shifts and a $16.00 per hour pay rate are offered.

Provides visual and audible observation under RN direction, ensures safety, documents observations, and responds to emergencies while maintaining patient comfort and confidentiality.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma, GED or equivalent required.
• CPR AED or BLS-HCP certification within 30 days of hire, if required.
• Ability to walk or stand for prolonged periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• One to two years of previous experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Visually and audibly monitors the assigned patient's condition and behavior at all times.
• Completes observation reports at established intervals.
• Interacts hospitably with staff, patients, visitors and colleagues.
• Remains at the bedside of the patient unless relieved by staff.
• Responds to emergencies and escalates to medical staff as needed.
• Maintains patient safety and reports hazards to the charge nurse.
• Assists with calming and reorienting patients and keeping rooms orderly.
• Accompanies patient during diagnostics and hand-offs between shifts.
