Job summary

Good Samaritan in Windom, MN is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered care and assist with daily living activities under nurse supervision. The role includes administering prescribed medications and documenting patient care, with emphasis on compassionate, person-centered support.

The position requires 3 months in long-term care (6 months preferred), high school diploma or GED, and CMA/TMA eligibility.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum 18 years of age.
• 3 months experience in long-term care required (6 months preferred).
• Satisfactorily completes yearly competency testing and maintains continuing education credits.
• Must hold CMA/TMA certs or be eligible to obtain within stated timelines in applicable states.

Responsibilities

• Provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administer prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse.
• Document care outcomes and communicate changes to the charge nurse.
• Assist with activities of daily living, vital signs, and basic health needs.
• Support wellness and recreational programs and maintain clean, safe living areas.
