Job summary

Good Samaritan Windom in Windom, MN is seeking a Medication Assistant (MA) to provide resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance under a charge nurse. You will administer prescribed medications, document care, and support wellness activities with a focus on safety and dignity.

The role requires 18+ years of age, 3 months LTC experience preferred, and adherence to state-specific CMA/TMA requirements. Competitive premiums apply and scheduling includes weekend coverage.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED preferred, but not required.
• Minimum of 18 years of age.
• Prior clinical or nursing assistant experience in long-term care preferred.
• yearly competency testing and continuing education credits (minimum 12 hours annually) per state requirements.

Responsibilities

• The Medication Assistant (MA) serves as caregiver who provides resident-centered nursing care and daily living assistance to assigned residents under the supervision of a charge nurse.
• Administers prescribed medications as delegated by a licensed nurse and within scope of practice as defined by state regulations.
• Documents outcomes related to resident care, medication administration, behavior, activity, and dietary; communicates changes to the charge nurse.
• Provides housekeeping and laundry services to assist residents; supports wellness and recreational programs.
