Job summary

Hartford HealthCare in Hartford, CT is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide direct patient care under the supervision of a clinician, including vitals, health maintenance, allergy reconciliation, and patient history.

You will also handle scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart preparation, and prior authorizations, plus point-of-care testing with quality control and accurate documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or active CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic/ Medic certification.
• BLS from American Heart Association within 3 months of hire/date.
• Credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
• At least 1 year of direct patient care experience or MA externship; EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care under provider supervision, including vitals, health maintenance, and patient history.
• Perform indirect patient care: scheduling, check in/out, referrals, chart prep, and prior authorizations.
• Conduct point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.

Education

Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program

Active CT CNA, EMT, Paramedic, or Medic certification
