Job summary

Hartford HealthCare is seeking a Medical Assistant in Hartford, CT to provide direct patient care and administrative support within the Medical Assistant scope of education. The role includes vitals, testing, and assisting providers with procedures.

Responsibilities also include scheduling, chart prep, referrals, and front-desk coverage, while maintaining equipment and a safe environment. CT CNA/EMT or MA diploma and BLS-CPR are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required; Technical School may be considered.
• American Heart Association BLS-CPR certification.
• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT certification, or relevant experience.

Responsibilities

• Provides direct patient care including vitals, history, screenings and virtual health.
• Performs point of care testing with quality control and documentation.
• Assists providers with in-house procedures (pumps/meters, bladder scan, sterile technique, sutures).
• Obtains blood samples by venipuncture with competency.
• Documents interventions and communicates with health care providers; covers front desk as needed.
• Maintains equipment, supplies and a safe, clean environment.
