Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group invites applications for a Medical Assistant to provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education. Your role includes vitals, history, health maintenance, and assisting providers.

You will perform scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, chart prep, and prior authorizations, while gaining continued training and growth within Connecticut's premier healthcare network.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Certified BLS Provider from the American Heart Association within 3 months of hire.
• All credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
• At least one year of direct patient care experience may be considered.
• EPIC EMR experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope.
• Conduct vitals, patient history, health maintenance, and assist providers.
• Schedule, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations.
• Perform point-of-care testing and document results.
