Job summary

Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential clinical and clerical support in delivering patient care. You will perform vitals, history taking, screenings, and health maintenance under the supervision of providers, while handling scheduling, check-in/out, referrals, and prior authorizations.

You may conduct point-of-care testing with quality control and documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma from an accredited Medical Assistant program or CT CNA/EMT/Paramedic certification.
• Certified BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) obtained within 3 months of hire date.
• All required credentials to be maintained throughout employment.
• In lieu of education, at least one year of direct patient care experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Provide basic clinical and clerical support in patient care within the Medical Assistant scope of education.
• Provide direct patient care under direction of provider, including vitals, allergy/medication reconciliation, screenings, patient history, health maintenance and advance directives.
• Schedule, check in/out, referrals, chart prep and prior authorizations.
• Conduct point of care testing including quality control and documentation.
