Job summary

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services team in the SF Bay Area is seeking an Operations Specialist to support multiple facilities. You will work with Lab and Production Services professionals to execute mission-based lab work and research protocols, while coordinating with customers and management to ensure timely delivery of services.

The role requires 3+ years in inventory/procurement, travel within SF Bay Area, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required; associate or undergraduate degree in a business or science-related field is a plus.
• 3+ years of experience in Inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/inside sales is preferred.
• Must have a valid driver’s license and the ability to travel overnight.
• Vaccination against COVID-19 is required at sites where coverage is required.
• Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and operate in a GMP environment.
• CDL is a plus, not a requirement.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities and/or customers in a strategic geographic area and may perform job functions for other roles when needed.
• Act as a backup to other territories and may require travel outside the designated area.
• Coordinate and lead team efforts to meet customer requirements.
• Interface with customer points-of-contact, purchasing directors, facility directors and plant managers to procure lab supplies and materials.
• Train Avantor Lab and Production Services associates on service offerings and SAP support.
