Job summary

Avantor’s Lab and Production Services unit provides customizable, end-to-end laboratory support to customers in biopharma, pharma, education, and industry. This role supports multiple facilities, coordinating with management to deliver SOPs, training, and customer-facing services.

You will work in a hands-on role with a focus on inventory control, procurement, shipping, and small-vehicle travel across the Bay Area, with opportunities for travel bonuses.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; associate/undergraduate degree a plus.
• 3+ years in inventory control/procurement/shipping and receiving/inside sales is a plus.
• Strong collaboration with Microsoft Suite experience.
• Overnight travel may be required; travel bonus eligibility.
• Must have a valid driver's license and be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• GMP experience strongly desired; knowledge of SAP and lab systems is beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Support multiple facilities or customers within a geographic area and cover roles during vacations or emergencies.
• Travel as needed, including potential travel outside the territory; overnight travel bonuses apply.
• Coordinate and lead team efforts to meet customer requirements and timelines.
• Develop and maintain SOPs, scopes of work, and on-the-job training; interface with customer management.
• Procure lab supplies using Avantor and customer systems (SAP, Inventory Manager, Chemical Manager).
• Train staff on service offerings and provide SAP support and invoice reconciliation.
• Monitor quality metrics, KPIs, and budget-related expense reports; achieve revenue and safety goals.
• Create programs to improve service efficiencies and perform other duties as assigned.
