Job summary

Strata Clean Energy seeks an experienced Survey Crew Chief to lead construction surveying on utility-scale solar projects. This hands-on, traveling role converts digital design data into precise field layouts using GPS, Surface files, DXF/XML data, and staking.

You will guide the survey crew, perform As-Built work, and compute stockpile/basin volumes in outdoor field environments. The ideal candidate brings 5+ years in GPS surveying with extensive field knowledge and a strong safety mindset.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of GPS surveying experience.
• Proficiency in all areas of surveying.
• Knowledge of current survey equipment used on sites.
• Able to supervise equipment usage by crew on power sites.
• Current valid driver’s license required.

Responsibilities

• Understand Surface files and apply to work area.
• Experience with GPS surveying, as‑builts, stockpile/basin volumes, staking, DXF and XML files.
• Supervise proper usage of equipment and teach team members.
• Promote safety practices and PPE on site.
• Travel 100% to field locations and outdoors.
• Train crew to meet projected timelines.
• Other duties as assigned.
