Job summary

Westwood Professional Services, Inc. is seeking a qualified full-time Survey Crew Chief to lead a field surveying team. This position will collect data to support design activities, boundary surveying, providing sketches, and layout to support construction activities.

Responsibilities include operating GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors; coordinating with office staff; maintaining safety and quality standards; and mentoring junior crew members on project sites.

Qualifications

• Experience in land surveying, including boundary location and ALTA/Topography.
• Ability to lead a survey crew and mentor teammates.
• Strong communication with clients and internal teams.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical expertise to internal and external clients.
• Perform field work for land surveying scopes including construction staking, boundary location, ALTA, and topography for various project types.
• Organize field staking materials as necessary.
• Operate GPS, total stations, scanners, and data collectors.
• Transfer files between data collectors and internal project folders.
• Provide communication to the office teams regarding project status, daily progress and issues.
• Maintain productive working relationships with clients and coworkers.
• Adhere to the company’s Safety, Quality Management and Equipment Maintenance policies.
• Ensures division, regional, and company policies and practices are consistently followed within the survey service.
• Lead by example – display solid judgment, good values, trust, honesty, openness, and professionalism.
