Job summary

Hoar is seeking an Assistant Superintendent to support the Superintendent or Senior Superintendent on construction projects. The role may travel up to 100% and involves coordinating crews, reviewing schedules and budgets, and ensuring safety and compliance with specifications.

Responsibilities include inspecting work, reading construction documents, maintaining records, and representing Hoar in meetings on site. Travel and on-site leadership are key aspects of this position.

Qualifications

• 2–5 years of experience in construction, or recent college graduate in construction
• General knowledge of scheduling, cost control and safety procedures
• General computer skills (MS Office)
• Valid driver's license required

Responsibilities

• Support scheduling and coordination of project crews and subcontractors
• Monitor project schedule and budget; coordinate recovery plans
• Inspect work and equipment to verify safety and specs
• Read construction documents to determine requirements
• Maintain reports and logs on personnel, production, and progress
• Conduct safety inspections and audits; ensure safe working conditions
• Communicate goals and schedule to crews
• Represent Hoar in jobsite meetings
• Act as jobsite superintendent in absence
• Coordinate with customers and suppliers for smooth operations
• Manage workforce for assigned projects
