Job summary

EnerStaff LLC in Elmhurst, IL is seeking a Filed Service Mechanic to install, startup, maintain, and troubleshoot hydraulic equipment and mechanical systems at customer sites, including refineries and industrial facilities.

This role requires extensive travel (domestic and international), lifting up to 50 pounds, and a commitment to safety, with pay between $22 and $28 per hour depending on experience. Shift typically 6am–2:30pm, with overtime possible.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Mechanical troubleshooting and repair experience.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
• Ability to travel domestically and internationally.
• Valid driver's license and acceptable driving record.
• Ability to work safely in refinery and petrochemical environments.

Responsibilities

• Perform startup, commissioning, and maintenance of hydraulic equipment and associated mechanical systems.
• Conduct preventative and reactive maintenance on industrial machinery and equipment.
• Diagnose mechanical failures and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
• Inspect, test, troubleshoot, and repair hydraulic systems, valves, pumps, actuators, and related equipment.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, schematics, and maintenance manuals.
• Complete service reports, maintenance records, and customer documentation accurately and timely.
• Work closely with customer personnel to resolve equipment issues and improve system reliability.
• Maintain a safe work environment by following company, customer, and regulatory safety procedures.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives and maintenance planning activities.
• Provide technical support and training to customers when required.
