Graybar Electric Company, Inc. is seeking a materials handler and counter sales professional to support customer orders and inventory management at Graybar branches. This role involves assisting clients, processing orders, and coordinating shipping and billing while maintaining strong product knowledge.

Occasional travel to client sites may be required, with deployments lasting weeks to months. The position may involve driving a company vehicle and handling warehouse duties, including stock

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years experience required.
• 4+ years experience preferred; 4 year degree preferred.
• Required counter sales skills and customer service skills.
• Ability to perform physical requirements to receive, pick, pack, ship, and move materials up to 70 pounds.
• Ability to operate warehouse equipment safely per instructions.
• Willingness to travel and be away for several months per client need.

Responsibilities

• Take an active role in selling Graybar goods and services
• Fill customer merchandise requirements using knowledge of products sold
• Suggest selections that meet customer needs
• Act as a resource for new or less experienced representatives
• Coordinate prompt handling of customer service requests (order entry, pricing, expediting, billing)
• Perform shipping, receiving, and inventory maintenance duties
• Evaluate inventory requirements and maintain correct merchandise balance
• May perform delivery driver duties as needed
• Operate a light van or delivery vehicle to deliver customer orders
• Ensure customer orders are delivered to meet expectations
• Update product knowledge through self-study and training
• Train new or less experienced representatives
