Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Structured Cabling Fiber Splicer to install and maintain low voltage systems in data centers. You will assemble, test, and deploy fiber and copper cabling, read detailed plans, and ensure high-quality installations. Extensive travel is required, with 90–100% travel often needed.

Ideal candidates hold CNCI, BICSI INST1, INSTC/INSTF certifications, a valid driver’s license, and 2+ years of related experience; English proficiency is essential.

Qualifications

High school diploma or GED required.
Minimum two years related experience; data center construction preferred.
CNET CNCI Certification.
BICSI Installer INST 1.
BICSI Installer INSTC/INSTF.
Trade or technical school certification/diploma.

Responsibilities

Assemble, install, test, and maintain low voltage wiring, cabinets, and fixtures per plans.
Install structured cabling components, cabinets, pathways, and racks.
Perform fiber optic cabling installation and testing.
Fusion splice high-count fiber optics with low loss.
Test with OTDR and power meters; document results.
