Job summary

LAUNCH Technical Workforce Solutions, LLC is seeking a Rapid Response Diesel Technician to join our nationwide team. This role involves traveling to customer sites to diagnose, repair, and maintain school buses and fleet vehicles, while promoting EV maintenance practices.

You will be employed by Launch and deployed to facilities across the country, prioritizing safety, efficiency, and high-quality workmanship. Strong communication and mentoring skills are valued.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in diesel engine repair and vehicle maintenance.
• Familiarity with FMCSA and DOT safety standards.
• Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment.
• Leadership skills and willingness to train others.
• Technical certification or ASE preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain, repair, and overhaul school buses and fleet vehicles per FMCSA guidelines.
• Champion the adoption of cutting-edge EV maintenance practices and technology.
• Perform inspections, diagnostics, and preventative maintenance.
• Tune engines, align wheels, and maintain electrical systems to meet DOT standards.
• Replace worn parts, change filters, and perform oiling/greasing.
• Test drive vehicles post-repair to ensure safety and performance.
• Conduct minor bodywork and repainting as needed.
• Track parts usage, manage inventory, and order supplies.
• Report safety concerns and corrective actions.
• Mentor junior technicians and assist where needed
• Perform other duties as assigned.
