Job summary

Rush Truck Centers is seeking an Experienced Mobile Diesel Technician to maintain fleets for clients and handle on-site service calls, delivering expedited expertise to customer trucks and equipment at their locations.

The role requires tenured, certified technicians to support customers; you will diagnose, repair, and replace components, manage service truck inventory, and collaborate with the Service Manager on daily tasks and after-hours availability.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• 5 years' Class 7 & 8 tech experience.
• CDL preferred but not required.
• FMVSS medical card requirement.
• Mechanical aptitude and technical ability.
• Peterbilt/International/Ford/Hino/Isuzu/Cummins/ASE certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain all aspects of equipment per company standards.
• Basic maintenance: fuel, oil, cleanliness, inspections as assigned.
• Manage service truck inventory and stocking.
• Report to the Service Manager; daily duties assigned.
• Be available for after-hours service and open schedule.
• Read job orders to plan procedures.
• Use diagnostic equipment to locate malfunctions and perform repairs.
• Replace injectors, pistons, bearings, transmissions, etc.
• Document work in the company computer system.
• Check safety devices and adjust as needed.
• Lubricate moving parts and test repaired vehicle.
• Provide customer communication and aftercare advice.
• Suggest repairs within the next 3 months.
• Participate in training and apply it on the job.
