Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced Environmental Health & Safety professional to lead EH&S on a single high-profile construction project in Houston, TX. The role focuses on enforcing safety programs, regulatory compliance, and incident prevention across the project team, subcontractors, and Turner trades.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in safety/engineering, CHST certification, OSHA 30-hour, and strong leadership and communication skills to drive safety

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in safety, engineering or related field.
• CHST certification required or within 2 years of appointment.
• OSHA 30-hour training completed; current First Aid/CPR/BBP/AED.
• Knowledge of federal, state, and local EH&S regulations.
• Ability to lead safety actions and training across a construction project.

Responsibilities

• Lead EH&S on a single construction project, ensuring compliance with policies and regulations.
• Provide safety leadership and allocate resources effectively.
• Assess exposures and implement corrective actions to mitigate risks.
• Develop site-specific safety training for management, employees, subcontractors and Turner trades.
• Promote safe work practices and enforce safety policies on site.
• Review subcontractor safety programs and pre-task plans for compliance.
• Conduct worker orientation and maintain safety records and reports.
• Collaborate with project leadership to improve safety metrics and log safety meetings.
