Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Project Engineer II for MEP/Data Center construction in Kansas City, MO. You will coordinate procurement, submittals, RFIs, and contracts, while supporting financial tracking and project documentation on traveling, on-site roles.

Ideal candidates bring 2+ years in data center/ mission-critical projects, strong communication, and a client-focused mindset. The role is fully onsite with travel to Alabama after initial project, offering competitive pay and benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience in data center, mission-critical, or MEP-intensive projects.
• Experience as a Project Engineer focusing on mission-critical, data center, or complex MEP projects.
• Experience managing RFIs, submittals, insurance and contract administration, and document coordination.
• Strong technical skills and ability to learn new systems and tools.
• Excellent communication and organizational skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Manage procurement, submittals, RFIs, ITBs, contracts, and change orders through Procore.
• Support project financials, including commitments, monthly reconciliations, pay applications, and cost tracking.
• Coordinate project setup, scheduling, permitting, meeting documentation, closeout activities, and punch list processes.
• Maintain project documentation, drawings, logs, and reporting to ensure accuracy and transparency.
• Facilitate communication between project stakeholders, trade partners, and internal teams.
• Provide mentorship to junior team members and assist with issue resolution and day-to-day project execution.
• Support multiple concurrent projects while ensuring quality, timely delivery and adherence to construction best practices.
