Job summary

ARCO in Downers Grove, IL seeks a Safety Manager to lead risk management training and site safety programs across multiple projects. The role requires collaboration with superintendents, subcontractors, and project managers to ensure compliance with safety policies and best practices.

The ideal candidate will have 5+ years of safety experience in construction, a BS in Occupational Health and Safety, and relevant certifications. Occasional out-of-state travel and weekend coverage may be required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Safety and Health experience preferred.
• Prior construction experience is required.
• Certification such as CSP or CHST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Create and lead training on risk management for office and field.
• Provide on-site safety training to superintendents and contractors.
• Attend preconstruction and project meetings as required.
• Lead safety portions of meetings and publish improvement reports.
• Inspect projects for compliance and safety best practices.
• Review engineered plans for safety hazards with project teams.
• Travel to multiple job sites locally and nationwide as needed.
• Investigate work incidents to determine root cause and corrective actions.
