Job summary

The Project Manager at Layton Construction oversees planning, procurement, scheduling, and execution for assigned construction projects. May manage multiple projects, maximizing profitability while meeting quality and safety goals.

Responsible for plans, budgets, estimates, and client relationships, with a focus on delivering predictable outcomes. This role requires full-time travel to project sites nationwide, on-site leadership, and collaboration with the Superintendent to ensure successful

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in ground-up commercial projects, especially light industrial/cold storage.
• Understands estimating concepts to verify bids and process change orders.
• Understands contractual language and construction laws and practices.
• Knows building codes, plans, blueprints, and specifications.
• Effective team member with delegation and strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Lead the project team and develop the PMP, conduct pre-award/pre-construction meetings.
• Prepare estimates and project budget; manage procurement and scheduling.
• Negotiate change orders, manage cost/profit impacts, and ensure on-time delivery.
• Develop monthly client pay requests and coordinate payments with accounting.
• Oversee project close-out, as-builts, and client relationship management.
