Job summary

IES is a national provider of industrial products and infrastructure services. The Communications Technician I role is a full-time, direct-hire position requiring 100% travel within branch/regional territory.

You will learn and perform structured cabling tasks, including installs, terminations, and documentation. The role demands a High School diploma or GED, 0–1 year telecom experience, mechanical aptitude, and willingness to learn.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalency.
• 0–1 year of experience in telecommunications or related technical field.
• Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
• Basic construction industry knowledge preferred.
• Must possess and learn to effectively use the listed tools.
• Ability to meet Company minimum driving standards preferred.

Responsibilities

• Install work area outlets, drop cable down walls, route cable and label cables.
• Build closets with racks, patch panels, fiber optic hardware and grounding.
• Perform fire-stopping and install sleeves; pull cable through sleeves and core penetrations.
• Terminate low-voltage devices.
• Complete IES COMMERCIAL paperwork on time.
• Adhere to safety standards and company requirements.
• Complete other responsibilities as assigned.
