Job summary

IES is seeking a Technician I - Fiber to install, terminate, test, and splice fiber across commercial projects. The role requires 100% travel and is a full-time, direct-hire position. You will work on cabling, terminations, and testing per IES standards.

Responsibilities include using OTDR and testing equipment, troubleshooting to ensure network integrity, and completing paperwork accurately. This role entails regular travel and working across multiple sites within the region.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED equivalent.
• Proficient with listed tools.
• Proficient at terminating all connector types and methods for SMF and MMF systems (Unicam, anaerobic, heat‑cure).
• Experience testing & troubleshooting MMF & SMF systems (OTDR & PMLS).
• Can meet IES driving standards policy.

Responsibilities

• Install, terminate, test, and splice fiber as part of the role.
• Perform cabling, termination, and testing per standards.
• Troubleshoot with OTDR and ensure end‑to‑end network integrity.
• Travel within the branch/ regional territory as needed.
